HERALD SPOTLIGHT: Ernest Freeman

Ernest Freeman1CC
Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.

PLAYER: Ernest Freeman

YEAR: 2012

SCHOOL: Carol City

CITY: Miami Gardens

POSITION: RB

HEIGHT: 6-1

WEIGHT: 195
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Harold Barnwell

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: From the time he stepped onto the field as a ninth grader in high school this was one of those players you watched and appreciated.

One of the top rated sophomores in the state two years ago, and then against, last year, during his junior season, this was a player that everyone watched - with a solid future in mind.

A big, physical back who combines power, speed and outstanding running instincts, most didn't get to see him do what he does best last year - carry the entire load.

There is little doubt that this BCS back will get more carries in 2011, and when that happens, everyone around the nation will see exactly what everyone has been talking about for the past three years.

Could emerge as one of the top all-around backs in the state. A must get for teams who are in need of a big back who can make plays!
