HERALD SPOTLIGHT: John Green

John green
Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.

PLAYER: John Green

YEAR: 2012

SCHOOL: Varela

CITY: Miami

POSITION: WR/KR

HEIGHT: 5-11

WEIGHT: 172
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Matthew Dixon

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: First of all, this is one of those exceptionally quick football players who uses his speed to separate from defenders. A super quick athlete.

As a receiver, he is still learning. There are so many things that he has already picked up through coaching and at camps that has colleges very interested in his future, which will only get brighter this spring and summer.

In addition to be a rising receiving prospect, this is a player who certainly helps himself out by the fact he can return kicks with the best of them. His vision is tremendous, but a number of very fast players have instincts as well.

If you look into the future, this is a prospect who will start to climb the ladder and get more offers as he plays and shows how impressive he can be on the football field.

Great Report! Thanks for the profile. Just want to add that John is MVP2010 at his School and is doing well academically, which means that he is really and "all-rounder".
