HERALD SPOTLIGHT: Kevis Jones

Kevis Jones1
Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.

Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.

PLAYER: Kevis Jones

YEAR: 2012

SCHOOL: Northeast

CITY: Oakland Park

POSITION: QB/DE/OLB/TE

HEIGHT: 6-3

WEIGHT: 217

HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Donnell Bennett

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: To say this young man is on the verge of breaking out in a major way - nationally - is an understatement.

Go over every checklist in your mind and this gifted student/athlete has it all. Speed, strength, athletic ability, agility and gets it done in the classroom.

For a program that has certainly produced its share of football talent in the past, here is yet another prospect who can take his skills to a very high level - and beyond.

While I believe he would make the perfect college H-Back or even tight end, the belief is this prospect who can throw the ball 55 yards in the air, could be a very productive and effective outside linebacker.

This is a player who will watch his stock soar in the coming months!
