Point of Attack Lineman Camp coming

With the cost of football camps rising throughout the state, the best opportunity to learn and get better is attending events that are local, keeping the costs down.

The Point of Attack Lineman Camp has three camps that will teach line prospects so much about the position.

• Friday, June 24, Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers.
• Saturday, June 25, FAU, Boca Raton.
• Saturday, June 26, St. Thomas University, Miami Gardens (next to Monsignor Pace High School).

What every athlete needs to know about the camp:
• Open to all 2011 freshmen to senior linemen. Point of Attack Camp is a 1 day, 2 practice camp.
• College coaches from all NCAA levels will work with every camper.
• College "prospects" will be evaluated by college coaches at the camp.
• Point of Attack camp times are 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Lunch & camp T-Shirt is included.
• Emphasis on technique improvement.
• Competitive drills.
• Equipment: Helmet, shoulder pads, chin strap and school jersey.

In addition to the line events, there will be a camp held at St. Thomas University on Thursday, June 23 that will include instruction at quarterback, receiver, running back, tight end, defensive back, linebacker as well as instruction in zone, man, cover 2 and 3 as well as other helpful cover instruction.

The event will cost $75 if you register and pay before June 15. After that, the amount goes up to $85. make checks payable to: Point of Attack, 84 Santa Monica Ave., Royal Palm Beach, Fl. 33411.
