Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.
With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation - right here in our own backyard.
Don't forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via Twitter @ larryblustein.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Having watched this impressive football player for three years now, it's about time that he make a huge impact this season on a team that has more than its share of quality athletes.
In a region stacked with perhaps more defensive back talent than any other region in the nation, it is often easy to see why players such as Thompson gets overlooked.
This is an aggressive football player who makes plays all over the field. While he can play the safety position, watching him make hits and read offenses, his instincts remind some of a linebacker, although it may be tough for him to grow that much.
Crucial year because of all the college football prospects coming out in the Class of 2012. There is a need to step up his game this year, and most who have watched him since his sophomore year, believe he could be one of those true sleepers.
