Fernandez, Jimenez and Harriott on radio

The Maroone High School Gridiron Report will return again this Tuesday night on WQAM (560 AM) from 9-10 with a tremendous guest list.

Joining Larry Blustein on this week's show will be Miami Herald Prep Writer Andre Fernandez, Miami Beach head coach Ralph Jimenez and University School head coach Roger Harriott.

Nobody has a better pulse on what teams are in and what programs need to win this week to stay in the playoff race than Fernandez, who has covered high school sports for over a decade in South Florida.

Fernandez will take a look at the playoff picture as we head into the final week of district play across the state of Florida.

Want to see where your team is headed, listen to Andre at 9:05 and you'll find out for sure!

Over the past few years, Miami Beach has watched more talent and football prospects come out for the program, and at the center of the resurgence in Hi Tide football is Jimenez, who has kept high profile players such as Ricardo Louis at home, helping this program turn the corner.

With a win this week and a loss by Goleman, the Hi Tides will return to the playoffs after a long period away from the post season limelight. If Goleman and Miami Beach both win, there would be a three-way tie with American and a tie-breaker would be played.

But for Jimenez and his team, this has been a season that actually got going two years ago when the foundation was being laid. There are big time athletes on both sides of the ball, and that adds up to plays being made.

Set your clocks to catch Coach Jimenez at 9:20.

University School's football team has been somewhat of a mystery to some - while those who have followed the program from the start, understand that what college recruiters, analysts and fans saw during the spring was perhaps one of the best team in the state.

Every college who saw Coach Harriott's Suns perform during the spring and summer came away convinced that it would tough to find more prospects - 9th to 12th grade - anywhere, and so far, this team has lived up to that billing.

After a thrilling 52-51 win to open the season on the road at South Carolina power, Goose Creek, University School has continued to run over and away from the opposition. The latest win came last week in the district championship game against Chaminade-Madonna. The Suns won 45-16.

Hear everything that Coach Harriott has to say at 9:35.

They are in the playoffs around the youth football leagues, and nobody has a better grasp on what's going on than Jonah Woullard of Generation Nexxt, who joins thew show each week.

Check out the news from around the leagues at 9:50.
