7A FINAL: Manatee 40, First Coast 0

ORLANDO - The Bradenton Manatee Hurricanes rolled to the 7A state championship with a 40-0 win over previously unbeaten Jacksonville First Coast at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Manatee got on the board first in the opening quarter on a 13-yard run by junior quarterback Cord Sandberg.

Sandberg once againgot into the act as he threw a 44-yard scoring strike to junior running back Anthony Lauro and a 14-0 advantage early in the second quarter.

The Hurricanes extended the lead to 23-0 with 9:46 left in the third quarter when Blake Keller recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.

Manatee pushed the lead to 30-0 when Lauro took it in from the 10 with 6:25 left in the third quarter.

Nick Tankersley made it 33-0 with 6:10 left in the game when he hit his second field goal, a 29-yarder.
