What can you tell me about Kwan Grice Class of 2013 ATH at HML seems like hes the only one suited to move on to college this year from the senior class..

Which independent team in dade do you think has the best defensive line ?
Posted by: Danny | October 09, 2012 at 11:47 AM
most likely homestead needs to beat northwestern and carol city to make the playoffs do you think they will be able to do it?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:02 PM
D. Sheridan,
Tough but not impossible. Homestead has a talented running back in Johnnie Hankins and capable skill players.
Where they must win the battle is up front. That's something I think will be more difficult against Northwestern with their size and skill.
Carol City can kill you with those running backs and Akeem Jones running and around and making plays too.
It's difficult to see them do it now. But like I said, not impossible because they have a solid mix of talent and coaching that's made them a contender.

Danny,
I haven't seen them all, but hard to argue against Reagan having the best.
Posted by: Andre Fernandez | October 09, 2012 at 12:07 PM
There is rumors of Reagan playing Pace in a bowl game do you think Reagan can hold up
Posted by: Danny | October 09, 2012 at 12:11 PM
Robbie,
HML didn't have a lot when I saw them against Reagan. But playing well at both WR and DB would help his case.
Posted by: Andre Fernandez | October 09, 2012 at 12:12 PM
Danny,
They probably could yes. It would be similar to when Reagan was in it till late against Dade Christian earlier this year. They had a 13-7 lead until DC won it late in the 4th.

have you got any feedback about barrington christian academy this year? what you think the problem is with the team? it has went down since the first year 9-1 the team i was a part of and the second year district champs.

how far does south dade go in the playoffs this year they're most definetly going?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:19 PM
Haven't heard much from them, but from the preseason talk I had with them I saw they had a few good athletes still.
Problem I think is numbers. You've had public schools in the area get better like South Dade, Southridge, Homestead, Killian.
I think some kids have gone back or stayed at their home schools like those in the past couple of years.
Posted by: Andre Fernandez | October 09, 2012 at 12:19 PM
As for South Dade, I agree they should barring a slip-up against Southridge or Palmetto, which I don't see likely.
I think they get a second round rematch with Killian if that ends up being the other team. That game could have gone either way and so could the rematch.
Round 3 at the furthest, cuz then it's a tougher challenge beating Columbus.

true yea they have former players leave like dante johnson he's at homestead and khalil render and jerrel haprs who left and went to south dade herbert butler at southridge. next question do you think alexander QB for homestead being the size he is could he stand up against a miami carol city and northwestern D line?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:27 PM
I think it's all about the offensive plays they use in those games. He can't just sit back there and gun it downfield or have him running around and trying to make plays. But if they run quick passes and screens and get guys like Hankins and Lane the ball open where their speed takes over, it will give them a chance.

What do you think of Sam Cohen, TE/DE from Miami Country Day class of 2014
Posted by: J | October 09, 2012 at 12:31 PM
why do you think athelets coming from small schools like barrington christian go under the radar and don't really recieve any D1 offers despite putting up good statistics throughout the season?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:33 PM
Smart guy, we interviewed him at our media day in the preseason. I haven't been able to see Country Day this year, but I see he's having a good year statistically and is a key part of that team.

kevin sheridan 5'11 190 OLB,SS,RB class of 2014 which school would be best to finish out a high school football career and has the best chance at a state championship homestead, south dade, keys gate, south ridge?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:36 PM
D. Sheridan,
Not enough exposure I think in games like that. And I think the level of competition sometimes gives the impression they are lighting it up against fluff teams. That's why it's good to play higher than your level like some 1A-2A teams do taking on 4A-5A-6A teams.
Posted by: Andre Fernandez | October 09, 2012 at 12:36 PM
do you think if barrington christian gets more players around the young atheletes like javis johnson RB from florida city 160 national championship team they'll have a chance at a state title in the next few years?
Posted by: d.sheridan | October 09, 2012 at 12:40 PM
Who do you think are Reagan's key players on the Defense and Offensive side of the ball ?
Posted by: Danny | October 09, 2012 at 12:41 PM
D.,
They need him and a few others like him to at least get back on the level of a Dade Christian who could make a run at the state final four this year.
Posted by: Andre Fernandez | October 09, 2012 at 12:48 PM
South Dade, Southridge and Homestead are in tough spots to make a state title run because of schools like Central, Columbus, Booker T. Washington, etc. But at the 2A level, a team like Barrington or Keys with enough talent could go farther.
Thing is, next year the state will re-district again so it could change the map drastically again.

To the Reagan question,
Keenan Springer, Camilo Repetto, Kevin Campo, Shawn Curtis. Many of them play a little bit of both.

Does Furgunsun have any player that can be recruited this year?
