Melinda Doolittle releases her own CD soon

Melinda Melinda Doolittle, the most gifted vocalist of the sixth season and third place finalist, releases her debut album on Feb. 3. Producer is Mike Mangini (Joss Stone), and the album, Coming Back To You, is said to have a retro R&B, soul, blues and jazz sound, in keeping with the chops she displayed on Idol.

Thanks for the shout-out, Howard!

Melinda has remained true to what she told us on Idol, "I am an old-school, Motown girl at heart." Her debut CD is faithful to that Classic Soul era and gives Sharon Jones some much needed authentic company in placing that genre back on the front burner.

Had we not witnessed this vocal dynamo on American Idol, we would have wondered how one W-O-M-A-N could be so good, so young and in so many different styles: bluesy and funky grooves, sweet, love-angst ballads and doo wop power-ballads, uptempo self-esteem and inspirational anthems and more. But witness we did as this former Back Ground Vocalist (BGV) stepped into the lead spotlight and into Idol legend. Gone from televisions and music downloads for a time, now Melinda is Coming Back To You. ;-)

Thanks for helping Melinda's Street Team and Backups spread the Melinda-luv! ;-)

I must be doing something right if the haters are coming out of their parent's basements. LOL ;-)
