Idol's country bonanza on Billboard charts

Radndy American Idol's country week last week is reflected on the coming Billboard charts. Guest mentor Randy Travis has never found himself among the Top 10 on the main singles chart, Hot 100, but he's credited on Carrie Underwood's cover of his 1988's country smash, I Told You So, which flies from No. 57 to No. 9. (That's even higher than its No. 11 rise on the Country Tracks chart).

Travis' new compilation, I Told You So: Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis, a 2-CD set with two previously unreleased cuts debuts on The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 21. On the country albums chart, Randy comes in at No. 3 behind Carrie's 74-week-old Carnival Ride (No. 2) and the unmovable Taylor Swift at No. 1.

The other musical guest, Brad Paisley, previewed his new single, Then, and it opens well enough to score a No. 35 entry on The Hot 100.
