What do we now call Charles Deering’s house?

The Deering family were famous industrialists in the early twentieth century, owning International Harvester.  James Deering was best known here in Miami for his elaborate home, Vizcaya.  His brother also built a home here in South Florida.  Charles Deering built a home in Cutler which held a gallery of Spanish paintings and a collection of rare books.

Who built the first bridge to connect Miami Beach to The City of Miami?

In 1911 Miami Beach was starting to be developed.  One piece of infrastructure which helped to grow the city by connecting the beach to The City of Miami was a bridge.

Palm Beach was the second home to what American President?

President Obama’s family has gone on several vacations while he has been president.  He has vacationed in Hawaii and Martha’s Vineyard.  Previous presidents have also gone on vacations around the nation, including Palm Beach.
