Still distraught over the cancellation of the 2009 Langerado Music Festival? Miami will receive a small consolation prize courtesy of two headlining acts from the doomed festival on the Blazed and Confused Tour.
In a lineup seemingly united only by a passion for marijuana, jam band Slightly Stoopid and rapper Snoop Dogg will be joined by reggae singer Stephen Marley at Bicentennial Park in Downtown Miami on Saturday, August 1.
I've yet to see Slightly Stoopid live, but I was pleasantly surprised with Snoop's set in February 2005 in Gainesville, Fla. He tends to rock it live with a full band and backup singers (including a vocoder player, for that Roger Troutman feeling), and runs through his contemporary hits, as well as his Doggystyle-era classics.
I caught Stephen Marley, who is no stranger to Miami, twice in 2007 with his brother Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley. His set features a raucous reggae band playing his songs, as well as some of his father's (Bob Marley) songs.
Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.
