The Associated Press recently published a story about Nuyorican R&B singer Lumidee, who made an appearance in Cuba to shoot a music video, a rare feat for an American, artist or otherwise.
Best known for the infectious (read: borderline annoying) song "Never Leave You (Uh Oooh)," the club smash that mixed dancehall, reggaeton, hip-hop and R&B sounds, the 24-year-old singer shot a video for a "Kandi," a song by Iranian-born singer Arash Labaf.
The story talks about Lumidee's hesitation before the trip ("You don't know how it's going to be. Like you're not wanted here, and the people would not like you") as well as her views on the Communist country after spending several days there ("All Americans deserve to come here...").
