The Billboard Latin Music Awards are leaving South Florida, where they've been since they launched in the mid-90's. The eleventh edition of the Latin music's second largest legit music awards, will broadcast on Telemundo on April 29, 2010.
In recent years the Billboards have bounced from the Miami Arena (now a pile of rubble) to the Hollywood Hard Rock to the BankUnited Center at U of M. They honor the top-selling albums and most-played (most paid?) radio songs on the Billboard charts, so they're at least a measure of commercial mainstream popularity.

The Billboards Award are not about good music. It is about who pays more money to have their music played. It is well known that
"payola" is very common in the latin market.
It is time that Telemundo stop this practice.
For me , the Billboard, Premios Lo Nuestro and Juventud (Univision farce) are the same. The Latin Grammys are not so far off.

What happened to the Pablo Perez Project of 2006? This was the best salsa album in almost 15 years and nothing said!
