In 2000, Canadian electroclash Diva Peaches released The Teaches Of Peaches and exploded like a supernova. Working the same smutty/sexy/clever formula that madonna used two decades previous - but with much better music and much, much raunchier lyrics- Peaches went from obscure canuck to queen of electroclash in a blink of an eye.
If you can imagine the musical love child of Grace Jones and David Bowie if she was raised on 2 Live Crew, Kraftwerk and Blowfly Records and watched Janet Jackson's Nasty Boys video every day after school - you might get an idea of half the fun that can be had at a Peaches gig, like this one from Art Basel on Miami Beach in 2006.
This year, Peaches released I Feel Cream and released a series of fantastic music videos in which she rocks a mullet and wears skin tight bodysuits, the best of which is Serpentine . - she also just had her dancefloor smash "F*** The Pain Away" featured on a recent South Park Episode which I'm not linking up because by design it's is not suitable for viewing - by anyone.
