Following the release of Technology in June and the Valentine’s Day-themed The Thinnest Line, the ever-prolific ¡Mayday! is gearing up for its latest project: Stuck On An Island.
In anticipation of the release, which is due in early December, the Miami-based hip-hop band was eager to debut the first single right here on Miami Music Matters.
"They Told Me" is an unusually mellow song for the lively group, featuring a slick organ groove courtesy of Plex Luthor and introspective lyrics from vocalists Bernbiz and Wrekonize.
"The song is basically a sort of a eulogy for musical heroes we lost this year and in the past," Bernbiz said. "... It's a song about celebrating life -- while you're alive."
