In the mid-late 1990s, singer/songwriter Nil Lara was the toast of the town in Miami - and damn near everywhere else spanish is spoken. Blending the alt-rock sensibility of the day with latin american instruments like the three toned cuban "Tres" guitar and the Venezualan "Cuarto" - Lara made the NPR crowd swoon and toured the world, landing on famed festival stages such as the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Roskilde Festival in Denmark -and his tune "My First Child" was featured on Paul Reiser's sitcom "Mad About You."
While Nil hasn't released an album since 2004's "Da" - he has more than enough material to rock out moral gables with his crack band featuring Sean "Birdman" Gould on bass and Bobby McIntyre on drums.
So go work up your appetite for tomorrow. Best get your partying in now, cause the Tryptophan will knock you out like 80s Mike Tyson.
Cool,dude!
