West Palm Beach's annual 5 day musical extravaganza Sunfest is always a multigenerational hodgepodge of musical schitzophrenia -and this year is no different. Where else could one walk back and forth between REO Speedwagon and Maze on a Friday night?
But this year's Sunfest highlight is the opening "new music night" brought to you (complete with a $10 discount code on www.sunfest.com) by the Palm Beach County Health Department. Apparently it's good for your brain to listen to buzz-worthy bands like Atlanta combo The Constellations .
While that may be true, it is definately good for your ears to listen to Weezer,Wednesday night's headliner. Sure, the power pop kings of the 90s may never quite equal the amazing output of their first three records - but it is always a treat to listen to Rivers Cuomo sing about sweaters, half-japanese girls and pipes over musical hooks that dig in your brain and park there until they make you karaoke in the shower.

This would have been a great show to attend. Weezer have consistently released great tracks over the years but I agree, nothing quite beats the Buddy Holly and Sweater songs from the early years.
