Need proof that the economy sucks? Live Nation, the borg of concert promotion, who are notorious for tacking on every possible fee to concert tickets and paying huge guarantees to get exclusive rights for superstar shed tours have turned the "cheap seats" into actual cheap seats at seven south florida summer concerts.
Today's 1-day $10 sale includes one blue-chip act, Robert Plant & His Band Of Joy (who play Bayfront July 31) and the reigning tween-music kings Jonas Brothers (September 8th @ Cruzan). In addition, the value extends to five shows by acts who ruled the airwaves in decades past, including New Zealand 80s pop trio Crowded House (July 29th @ The Fillmore) and The Goo Goo Dolls (August 14 @ Bayfront) featuring Miami-bred Mike Malinin on drums.
And if you have a hankering for the worst rock band ever, tickets for Creed's September 1st gig at Cruzan are also listed in the $10 fire sale. If you're worried about your kids being into devil music, a lawn ticket to that will put them off rock & roll forever. But be careful, it could have the same effect on you.
