Early October shows from Dress-up horror-metal aliens GWAR have become a regular occurrence in South Florida. They mark the beginning of the Halloween season. And thanks to twitter - we know the members of GWAR party out of costume at the Mai Tai in Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps to load up on fluids on which to spew on the audience at Revolution.
"Bloody Pit Of Horror," Gwar's 12th studio album, will be released next month. You can be sure that GWAR have updated their stage show accordingly. The theme will be new, but the classic elements will remain. Someone's head will be chopped off. Someone will be enslaved. A passion play with lots of fake blood and thrash metal will ensue. Singer Oderous Urungus will be wearing a phallic codpiece that one could sharpen a knife with. The crowd will be covered in fake blood. The chant of "GWAR,GWAR, GWAR" will echo through himmershee, scaring yuppies in boat shoes.
GWAR will be performing tonight at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale @ 400 W Broward blvd. Get there by 10pm or face annhilation (or at least risk having clean laundry the next day),
