33 years is a long time to throw a party. So you can hardly begrudge New Orleans og jam band, The Radiators for hanging it up while the band is still popular worldwide and on the top of their game. Especially since they gave everyone fair warning, with a farewell tour that began last year.
Fort Lauderdale gets a double shot of gumbo rock this weekend at Revolution this Friday and Saturday before the Radiators overheat for the last time. It's a good time for local jam rock fans to learn where their genre comes from. For everyone else, a Radiators gig is an excellent excuse to knock back a few beers and appreciate the musicianship that can only come with 3+ decades of roadhouse and festival work. The Radiators pride themselves on being "new every night", so you never know when they will bust out with an amazing, off the wall cover like Roky Erickson's "I Walked With a Zombie."
The Radiators play Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th at Revoution, 100 SW 3rd ave, Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $25-$49. Showtime for each night is 8PM. There's no opening act.
