Lisa Treister has been named president of the Board of Directors for The YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade County. She will serve the 2008-2009 term. She is a founding partner of The Treister Murry Agency, a public relations and marketing firm. She has been a member of the board for the past four years.
Ramon Usategui, senior vice president and international private banking manager at Bank United FSB, has been elected as president of the Florida International Bankers Association for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
He served as first vice president of FIBA for the past year and will take office on July 1st for a one-year term.
John H. Williford has been hired at Ryder System as president of global supply chain solutions, a newly created position.
He was previously the president and chief executive at Golden Gate Logistics, a logistics company based in Palo Alto, Cali.

William Simonitsch, an attorney with K&L Gates, has been elected as president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida. He will serve for a one-year term.
Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC), a non-profit agency providing immigration legal services, has elected of officers for its Board of Directors for the coming 2008-09 term:

- John de Leon, an attorney and principal with the firm Chavez & de Leon, has been elected as vice president
- Nancy Audain Allen, president of the Women’s Business Development Center, has been elected as treasurer
- Jane Herron, a member of the board since 2005, has been elected as secretary
Rafael Velazquez has been hired as executive chef at Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club, a property of LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels.
Most recently, he was executive sous chef at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach for three years.
