Alex F. Vicencio, senior vice president-investments, quantitative choice portfolio manager, and Abby Vicencio, financial advisor, of the Vicencio Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors have been elected to serve as members of the University of Miami Estate and Gift Planning Advisory Board. In 2009, the husband-and-wife team created Vicencio Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, building upon the wealth management practice initiated by Alex in 1998.
Naldo Gonzalez has been named a senior associate at Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design and construction management firm. Gonzalez serves as vice president and manager of South Florida operations. He will be responsible for managing the operations.
Miami Dade College Provost Rolando Montoya has been named to the board of directors of Bank of Florida - Southeast, a $547 million-asset bank with six financial centers in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. Montoya performs the functions of chief academic and operating officer for Miami Dade College.
Bernard Hodes Group, a provider of integrated talent solutions, has named Jenny DeVaughn as director of social strategy. Prior to joining Hodes, DeVaughn owned and operated social media consultancy Social Precision.
BrightStar Credit Union has named financial executive James Egan as vice president of lending. Egan is responsible for loan originations and lending at BrightStar's six locations in Broward County. Previously, Egan was vice president of HSBC North America in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
Debra Silverman, a CPA with more than 18 years of experience, has joined MarcumRachlin's tax and business services division as a senior manager. She will work from the firm's Miami office. At MarcumRachlin, Silverman will focus on partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and S corporations as well as international taxation matters. Prior to joining MarcumRachlin, Silverman was a principal at Berenfeld, Spritzer, Shechter & Sheer.
The Police Athletic League of North Miami has appointed Elliott W. Starman, of Ribotsky, Levine & Co., CPAs, to its board of directors. The league provides funding for academic and athletic programs to reduce crime, drug abuse and provide positive role models.
Janet T. Munn has been named partner at Coral Gables-based law firm Rasco, Klock, Reininger, Perez, Esquenazi, Vigil & Nieto. Her expertise includes class-action defense, intellectual property, mass tort and products liability defense, media law, and domestic and international arbitration. Munn most recently worked at Steel Hector & Davis where she headed the intellectual property and media law groups.
Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod has named Lorelei A. Schumacher and Adam F. Haimo partners. Schumacher will practice in the firm's real estate group and Haimo in the litigation group.
Schumacher is an active member of the Commercial Real Estate Women network, Urban Land Institute and the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Haimo is actively involved in Lawyers for Children America, a child advocacy organization.
Sharon Kegerreis, formerly a partner at Bierman, Shohat, Loewy & Kegerreis, has joined business law firm Berger Singerman as a shareholder resident in the firm's Miami office. She also has been named a member of the firm's dispute resolution team.
