Yachts International magazine has appointed Jill Bobrow, formerly of ShowBoats and Boat International USA, as editor-at-large.

Southern Strategy Group names partner

 Southern Strategy Group has named Sofia Holtzman partner in the group's Miami office. Holtzman joined SSG after serving as a member of State Sen. Dan Gelber's finance and media relations campaign staff for Florida Attorney General. 

Planned Parenthood chapter names COO and VP

Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast has promoted Michelle Fowler to chief operating officer and Cory Neering to vice president of education for the agency. Fowler was most recently vice president of Human Resources at PPSFTC. Neering most recently served as vice president for youth services for the agency.

Association for Legal Career Professionals names president-elect

The University of Miami School of Law's assistant dean of career development, Marcelyn R. Cox, has been elected president-elect of the Association for Legal Career Professionals, a national association of law placement professionals. Prior to joining UM, Cox practiced law in Los Angeles and Miami.

Fowler White Boggs names shareholder

 Fowler White Boggs has announced that Terrence Russell has been named managing shareholder of the Fort Lauderdale office. Russell specializes in complex commercial litigation including foreclosures, anti-trust, securities and product liability defense.

Armor Correctional Health Services names director

 Carl Wittenberg  has joined Armor Correctional Health Services as director of marketing and business development. Wittenberg formerly served as project manager and proposal specialist at Prison Health Services. He will help develop and direct marketing and business development efforts. He will also manage acquisition and retention strategies for current and prospective clients.

North Shore Medical Center names COO

 North Shore Medical Center FMC campus has named Cliff Bauer chief operating officer. As COO, Bauer will oversee day-to-day activities of the hospital, as well as the development, design, operation and improvement of the hospital's service lines. Bauer was most recently chief operating officer with Healthspring of Florida. 

Florida Board of Pharmacy reappoints member

 Albert Garcia, executive vice president of pharmacy operations for Navarro Discount Pharmacies headquartered in Miami, has been re-appointed to the Florida Board of Pharmacy by Gov. Charlie Crist for a four year term. The Florida Board of Pharmacy is an independent state health regulatory agency that regulates the practice of pharmacy and protects the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Florida. 

Kaplan University appoints president

 The Kaplan University board of trustees has appointed Wade Dyke as president of the university. Dyke, who has served as interim president since August 2009, succeeds Andrew S. Rosen, who is now the chairman and CEO of Kaplan. As president, Dyke will oversee the academic operations of Kaplan University online, Kaplan University campuses and Kaplan University Learning Centers. He will be based in Kaplan University's corporate offices in Fort Lauderdale.

Latin Builders Association names executive board members

 The Latin Builders Association has appointed Niurka Lopez, general counsel for L&R Structural Corp., and Osvaldo Vento, president and chief executive of Everglades Lumber & Building Supply, to its 2010 executive board.
