Harry Smith joins Heller Waldman law firm as of counsel

Harry Smith Harry B. Smith has joined the law firm of Heller Waldman, P.L. in Coconut Grove. He will be of counsel to the firm, practicing in the areas of wills, trusts, estates, and real estate law. Before joining Heller Waldman, he was a shareholder at Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A. in Miami, for more than 25 years.

Noelia E. Moreno has joined the law firm of Infante Zumpano as Of Counsel.

Noelia Moreno 3 Noelia E. Moreno, president of the Latin Builders Association (LBA), has joined the law firm of Infante Zumpano as Of Counsel. In her new role, she will serve as a legal advisor to business owners in a wide variety of industries, with a special emphasis on construction. Her practice areas include commercial insurance, risk management, vendor and contractor relations, assisting business owners in adopting growth strategies, the legal complexities associated with such a process, and the winding down of a business.Before joining Infante Zumpano, she was vice president of sales and administration and co-owner of Moralmar Kitchen Cabinets, Inc. Moreno also is a certified professional life coach. She sits on the executive board of the LBA and served for the past two years as the publisher of Proyecto Magazine, the official magazine of the LBA. She was elected in 2009 as the first female president of the LBA.

Danielle Clermont named vice president of Miami Association of Realtors

Danielle Clermont Danielle Y. Clermont has joined the executive team of the 24,000-member MIAMI Association of Realtors (MIAMI) as vice president of marketing & business. Her responsibilities will focus on serving MIAMI’s more than 5,000 members in Broward and expanding the association’s operations and presence in South Florida. Before joining MIAMI, she was director of communications and marketing with the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale for five years. She also has held numerous public affairs and lobbyist positions during her career. She will be headquartered in a soon-to-be-open East Broward Office.

She was senior vice president. Before joining the company, she was a senior associate with Jones Lang Wootten in New York.

Jacqueline Travisano Jacqueline A. Travisano has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer at Nova Southeastern University. In her new role, she will be responsible for overall direction, management and effective administrative operations of the university. She will begin her new position on September 1. For now, she is vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer for St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Before joining St. John’s, she was vice president for finance & operations at Carlow University, and associate vice president for finance & administration at Chatham University, both located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Yolanda Talamo named chief human resources officer at Cisneros Group of Companies

Yolanda Talamo Yolanda Talamo has joined the Cisneros Group of Companies as chief human resources officer. Based at the company's Miami headquarters, she will be responsible for designing and developing human resources strategies and corporate policies for all Cisneros Group companies worldwide. Before joining the Cisneros Group, she had an 18-year career at Procter & Gamble in Caracas, Venezuela and in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving as North America U.S. operations & marketing functional human resources leader since 2007.

Jorge Gutierrez, Ronald Neiwirth named partners at new Miami law office of Boyd & Jenerette

Jorge Gutiérrez has been named managing partner and Ronald G. Neiwirth has been named a partner at the recently opened Miami office of Boyd & Jenerette.

Jorge R. Gutierrez Gutierrez concentrates his practice on domestic and international corporation matters, private and public securities offerings, and international cross-border corporate transactions. He has extensive experience with the legal systems, cultures and business practices of Latin America and Europe.

 

 

Ronald G. Neiwirth Neiwirth will head the insolvency, reorganization and creditors’ rights practice for the firm. He was with Fowler White Burnett.

 

 

 

 

In addition to Gutierrez and Neiwirth, the new Miami office also had added David da Silva Cornell, a newly named partner in the firm, and Carlos Aguilar, who serves as director of the international practice group.

Cassandra Wiggins Cassandra Wiggins has been named human resources and faculty affairs manager at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science. She will be responsible for employee relations, including faculty affairs, and internal communications. Before joining UM, she was assistant vice president, human resources, for Ocean Bank for four years. Before that, she worked in human resources and faculty affairs at Florida Memorial University for nine years.
