Calvin Glidewell promoted to chief executive officer of Broward General Medical Center

Calvin Glidewell Calvin Glidewell has been promoted to chief executive officer of Broward General Medical Center and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. He has been CEO of Imperial Point Medical Center since joining Broward Health in 2007. While there he expanded services, added robotic surgery and interventional radiology, and opened a new emergency department and a new outpatient surgery center. Before joining Broward Health, he spent 16 years with the nonprofit University Community Health System in Tampa, serving as CEO of University Community Hospital-Medical Center, and University Community Hospital-Carrollwood. Mark Sprada, chief nursing officer/chief operating officer for Imperial Point Medical Center, will be interim CEO as a search for Glidewell’s replacement is conducted.
