Former circuit judge Jorge J. Perez joins McDonald Hopkins law firm

Jorge PerezJorge J. Perez has joined the Miami law office of McDonald Hopkins LLC as a member and chairman of the newly formed national receivership practice group, Before joining the firm, he was a partner at Gordon & Rees LLP. Before that, he was a circuit court judge in the 11th Judicial Circuit, Miami-Dade County, for more than four years. He was appointed to the bench by former Gov. Jeb Bush. He has extensive litigation experience in state, federal and administrative courts at the trial and appellate levels. He also has broad expertise in receiverships, special magistrate appointments and other fiduciary appointments, and arbitration, mediation, and commercial litigation. Before serving as judge, he was assistant district counsel at the Department of Homeland Security in Miami, where he represented the U.S. government in all forms of federal immigration administrative and judicial proceedings.
