Erick Garnica has been named director of international sales of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. Most recently, Erick, who is a native of Mexico City, held the position of senior international tourism sales manager at the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, where he built solid relationships with tour operators and wholesalers in key international markets including the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Canada, Latin America and Brazil.

Gerardo Gato has been promoted to chief financial officer of Adler Group, a Miami-based real estate firm that provides property management, investment, and development services. Gato will be responsible for all company accounting, financial reporting, human resources and information technology. Previously, Gerardo served as controller overseeing the accounting department. Gato holds a master’s degree in international real estate and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida International University.
Eleanor Goldstein has been named CEO of Tropic Moon Media, a travel- and education-focused video-production and book-publishing company. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Goldstein taught for 10 yearsw in the Boulder school system. She later founded Social Issues Resources Series (SIRS), a publishing company. She is also the author of SIRS Interactive Citizenship Education Program.
Jonathan Blum has been appointed president of Cisneros Media, a newly formed corporate division encompassing all the organization’s affiliated media and entertainment companies. He will report to Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros, and be based in Miami. Blum will head a division that includes broadcast television, Pay-TV, production, content distribution, music, and beauty pageant companies. This is his second tenure at Cisneros; the first was in 2001 through 2007, when he served as enevision’s planning director. Before his return, he had a successful run at E! Networks Latin America, initially hired as executive director before being promoted to Vice President of Business Operations in 2009. Blum holds an MBA from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración in Caracas.
Gregory M. Santín is now senior vice president and commercial real estate relations manager for Florida Community Bank’s South Florida region. He has more than 20 years of commercial real estate and financial industry experience and was previously the vice president, asset recovery officer, and vice president, commercial real estate lender at The Bank of New York Mellon.
Lloyd B. DeVaux is the new chief operating officer for City National Bank of Florida. He replaces Javier Sanchez, who was named chief development officer. In his new role, Sanchez will oversee the client experience at CNB and will be charged with taking it to the next level while the bank grows. He will also manage the Client Services Department. Most recently, DeVaux worked at BankAtlantic for 12 years, including eight as the bank’s COO. At CNB, he will be overseeing the bank’s operations, including deposit and loan operations, electronic banking, project management, information technology, security and facilities.
