Juan 'J.C.' Acosta has been named executive vice president as well as chief financial officer and executive-in-charge of production at Viacom International Media Networks. Before, he was senior vice president as well as chief financial officer and executive-in-charge of production.
Since joining VIMN in 2007, Acosta has helped plan and develop the company’s original production output of more than 1,000 hours of content. That includes Nickelodeon’s first independently produced telenovela, “Grachi,” which ranked No. 1 in multiple markets throughout Latin America, and MTV Latin America’s first-ever telenovela, “Niñas Mal,” which received 12 million viewers in Latin America and an additional 5 million on Tr3s in the U.S. Hispanic market. Other notable credentials include the ‘tween’ telenovelas “Isa TKM,” “Isa TK+,” “Miss XV” and “Sueña Conmigo.”
Acosta, a CPA, has a bachelor’s of accounting and an MBA from Florida International University.
Best advice he ever received: “If you’re process-oriented and not totally outcome-oriented, then you're more likely to be a success. I often say ‘pursue excellence, ignore success.’ Success is a byproduct of excellence.”
