Lisa Gibbs has been named business editor for The Associated Press, based in New York City. Gibbs a former executive business editor at the Miami Herald and a senior writer at Money, was most recently the real estate section chief of Money.com. She graduated from the University of Miami with majors in journalism and economics.
Melissa Sullivan was recently named director of advancement for the Palm Beach County Food Bank in Lantana. Before, she was an advancement and communications specialist for the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Sullivan has a bachelor of arts degree in humanities from Washington College, Chesterton, Md.
Joan K. Goodrich has been named city/economic development director for the City of Delray Beach. Before, she was an independent contractor with the Washington Economics Group. Her experience includes having been executive director at March of Dimes in Fort Lauderdale. She attended Stetson University.
Robert J. Downing has joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in its Latin American and Iberian Practice Group and Global Energy and Infrastructure Practice Group. He will split his time between the firm’s Miami and Houston office. Before, Downing worked as Associate General Counsel at Duke Energy International, a subsidiary of Duke Energy, the largest electric utility in the United States. His experience also includes having been senior attorney at the Cisneros Group and senior vice president of business and legal affairs at Telemundo Network Group. He has a bachelor’s in political science, a J.D. and an MBA from Columbia University, and a master of laws from the University of Houston.
