David Josefsberg has joined Century Risk Advisors as a partner and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the professional practice division. Before, he was with the Linq Financial Group. He has a bachelor’s in communications and a master’s in counseling from the University of Hartford.
David G. Barbeito has joined De La Hoz & Associates as a director. He will manage the audit practice. Before, he was at Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, where he was the principal-in-charge of the audit department. Barbeito has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Florida International University
Norbert Fernandez has been named executive vice president of marketing at Century Risk Advisors, based in BocaRaton. Before, he was chief operating officer and chief marketing officer at MDW Insurance Group in Coral Gables. He has an associate’s degree in finance and business administration from Miami-Dade College.
Michael A. Marquez has been appointed Florida region head at Bessemer Trust. He will continue to be managing director at the company. Before, he was regional director of Florida at Bessemer. Marquez has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s of science from Boston College.
Carlos Hernandez has rejoined the accounting firm of McGladrey, LLP as partner. He will be based in Miami. and will continue to specialize in the Healthcare assurance and consulting field throughout Florida. Hernandez is a graduate of MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill.
Rodrigo “Roddy” Melendez has been named managing partner of KPMG LLP’s Miami office. Before, he was an audit partner at the firm. He is a graduate of the University of Florida.
Richard F. Puerto has been promoted to partner in the tax department at Verdeja & De Armas, LLP in Coral Gables, where he focuses his practice on individuals and their closely owned businesses, international tax, high-net worth domestic/international individuals, real estate, schools and representing businesses/individuals before the IRS. He also is a tax advisor to numerous not-for-profit entities. He formerly was tax manager at Verdeja & De Armas. He has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from The Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida and a master’s of science in taxation from the Chapman Graduate School of Business at Florida International University.
