The Miami Symphony Orchestra has appointed Shari Liu to its board of directors. Liu has worked for several fashion magazines and previously served as the East Coast publisher of Elite Traveler.

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts names chairman of board

Mike Eidson, a partner in the Coral Gables law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson, has been elected chairman of the of Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts' board of directors. Eidson most recently served as chair-elect of the board and president of the board of trustees of the Miami City Ballet.

Miami City Ballet names director

 Bill Miller has been named director of marketing and communications for the 
Miami City Ballet. Most recently, Miller served as the senior director of marketing for the Adrienne Arsht Center.

Miami Symphony Orchestra names board member

 Benjamin D. Bohlmann, a partner at Miami-based accounting firm Mallah Furman, has been elected to the board of directors of the Miami Symphony Orchestra.

The Orange Bowl Committee names VP

Dawson Hughes has been named vice president of ticket sales and operations for The Orange Bowl Committee, where he will be responsible for management oversight and lead ticket sales efforts. Prior to joining the OBC, Hughes served as senior director of ticket sales and marketing for the Kansas City Royals.

YoungArts names trustee

YoungArts, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, has appointed dancer/choreographer Desmond Richardson, to its board of trustees. He is currently a celebrity guest judge on AMICI in Rome and celebrity choreographer on Fox's So You think You Can Dance.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden names education manager

 Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables has promoted Alison Walker to youth education manager. She was previously the community outreach coordinator in the education department.

 Jay Pelham, executive vice president of private banking, has been named to the board of trustees of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida. Pelham leads the private banking operations for all of Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust's locations.

 Wayne Pathman, managing partner with Pathman Lewis in Miami, has been elected to the Miami Children's Museum's board of directors. Pathman is a commercial litigator and also heads the environmental/land use and zoning department of the firm.
