Brenda Bailey has been promoted from director of business development to vice president at SmartWater CSI, a high-technology company in Fort Lauderdale specializing in crime deterrence and theft reduction. Bailey joined the company in June 2012, and manages the marketing team and oversees its national brand-awareness campaign. Before joining SmartWater CSI, Bailey was vice president of marketing for the NHL Florida Panthers and National Car Rental Center. She is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.
Col. Leland Liebe, U.S.A. (Retired) has been named vice president of SmartWater CSI, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale. He most recently was director of intelligence (J2) at Special Operations Command-South. Liebe has three master’s degrees, including a master’s in strategic intelligence from the National Intelligence University at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C.
Best advice he ever received: Great organizations make routine matters routine. The establishment of processes to accomplish “routine activity” allows the organization to ingest complexity to accomplish goals seldom achieved by those organizations who can't accomplish the “normal.” This advice was provided by Brig. Gen. (then Lieut. Col.) James T. Hirai, who was “the best commander and mentor I ever served with during nearly 25 years of active duty service. He was my battalion commander when I was leading a rifle platoon (as a second lieutenant) in the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii in 1992.”
Carlos Deupi has been named general counsel, executive vice president and corporate secretary at Brilla Financial Group. Before, he was at the Miami office of Squire Sanders. Deupi has a bachelor’s in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has a law degree from Boston College.
Michael Llorente has joined LSN Partners as a partner. He is also a partner at the law firm of Llorente & Heckler, P.A. Before joining LSN, Llorente served as chief-of-staff to Miami City Commissioner Francis Suarez. Llorente received his bachelor’s degree in English from Georgetown University and his J.D. from Northwestern University.
New position: President and general manager of RoboVault, a high-tech robotic self-storage facility
Past experience: McGregor is a 26-year veteran of BankAtlantic and previous member of Bank Atlantic’s executive management team and has held executive leadership positions, including those at BFC Financial Blue Green Corp. and Levitt Corp.

Connie Diaz has been appointed vice president of human resources at Seitlin, a Marsh & McLennan company. Diaz assumes a senior role on the human resources team in the company’s Florida region.
