 Alberto Dosal, president and chief executive of Compuquip Technologies, an IT services company based in in South Florida, has been named chairman of The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's domestic business development group.

Attorney Cliff Schulman, who recently joined Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza Cole & Boniske, has been named to the board of governors of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. As a partner at Weiss Serota, Schulman focuses on land use and environmental law.

Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber names board chairman

Robert W. Barron, a shareholder law firm Berger Singerman, has been elected chairman of the board of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce for 2010. He will serve a one year term. Barron has been active with the Greater Fort Lauderdale for seven years and has served on its board for five years.

 

Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber elects board member

Chuck Mohr, BankAtlantic's South Florida president and regional executive for Broward and Miami-Dade counties, has been elected to the 2010 board of directors of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Mohr will also serve as a member on the chamber's finance committee.

 

Nicaraguan American Chamber appoints president

Mario J. Sacasa has been appointed president of the Nicaraguan American Chamber of Commerce. Sacasa currently serves as senior vice president for international economic development of The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade's official economic development partnership.

National Association of Professional Employer Organizations names board member

Jay Starkman, president and chief executive of AlphaStaff Group, based in Fort Lauderdale, has been named to the board of directors of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations.

Kiwanis Club of Little Havana appoints president

The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana has appointed Ross Jimenez as president. He will guide the club's projects and lead Calle Ocho, the club's major fundraiser. Jimenez is the business development manager for Tropic Mechanical Contractors.

 

Greater Miami Shores Chamber elects VP

Lance A. Harke, managing partner of the Miami-based commercial litigation and consumer class action law firm Harke & Clasby, has been elected vice president of the Greater Miami Shores Chamber of Commerce.
