The US Green Building Council South Florida names board execs

The board of directors of The US Green Building Council South Florida Chapter, a nonprofit organization, has elected: Kyle Abney, of Abney + Abney Green Solutions Palm City, as president; Robert Cannellos, of The Spinnaker Group in Jupiter, as vice president; Carole Schafmeister, of D & B Tile Distributors in Miramar, as chair of the Miami/Keys branch; Jill Cohen, of Miller Legg in Pembroke Pines, as chair of the Broward County branch; and John Szerdi, of LDG Florida Architects in Lake Worth, as chair of the Treasure Coast/Palm Beach branch.

The Latin Builders Association has elected its first female president, Noelia E. Moreno, vice president of Moralmar Kitchen Cabinets.

The Latin Builders Association, has appointed Angel Medina III to its board of junior directors. Medina is a financial advisor with Morgan Keegan in Miami.

Accolade appoints four executives

Accolade, a builder and designer of custom homes, has named Ed Kopetman as chief executive officer, Henrique Chor as vice president of construction, Roberto Richards as chief financial officer and Jorge L. Esteban as chief architect and director of construction. Kopetman previously served as the chief financial officer of Breakstone Homes. Chor previously served as the as vice president of the renovation Division of Breakstone Homes. Esteban previously served as the chief architect of breakstone homes. Builders Association of South Florida appoints president, VP

The Builders Association of South Florida has named Fernando Martinez as president and Marianna Perez as vice president. Martinez is currently a partner at Caribe Homes and an active Realtor with Caribe Realty. Perez currently serves as manager and senior vice president of the Miami-Dade County market for commercial real estate at City National Bank of Florida.

 

Waas Construction names VP

Alaina Waas-Rojas has been named vice president of field operations for Waas Construction. Waas-Rojas has been with Waas since 2003.

Latin Builders Association appoints board members

The Latin Builders Association has appointed Javier Granda and Pedro Munilla to its board of directors. Granda is an associate at Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod in the firmés real estate group. Munilla is vice president of business development for MCM Corp.

 

JWR Construction Services appoints vice president

JWR Construction Services, a general contractor and construction management company headquartered in South Florida, has appointed Tim Anderson vice president of operations. Anderson most recently served as the vice president and business unit leader for Broward County with Balfour Beatty Construction.

 

Broward County Housing Authority Executive of the Year

 Broward County Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Kevin Cregan has been named Executive of the Year by the Florida Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (FAHRO). He is the first recipient of the award, which goes to those who have demonstrated a commitment to solving housing and community problems.

Lemartec Engineering vice president of esimating

Lermartec Engineering and Construction Corp., has promoted Jorge Zubimendi to vice president of estimating and an officer of the company. He was previously chief estimator. Zubimendi has worked at Lemartec for more than 10 years.
