The Biltmore in Coral Gables has promoted Philippe Ruiz as executive chef de cuisine of all of the restaurants on the property, including Palme d'Or, Fontana and Cascade.
He joined the Biltmore in 1999 as chef of the Biltmore's Palme d'Or restaurant.

Acqualina Management Group has hired Klaus Tenter as chairman of the Acqualina Executive Committee, which oversees Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach, located in Sunny Isles Beach.

Jorge Gonzalez, general manager of Mandarin Oriental in Miami, has been promoted to executive vice president of the southern region. He will oversee the hotels on the southeast coast of the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. He will also maintain his position as general manager of the Miami hotel, which he has held since July 1999.

Philip Madow has been named president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
He will hold overall responsibility for operations at the casino and entertainment complex, leading a team of more than 2,000 employees.
He was most recently with the Pala Casino Spa and Resort in Pala, Cali. where he held the position of senior vice president and general manager for three years.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Fort Lauderdale has hired Ty Brassie as director of sales and marketing for the Sheraton Yankee Clipper and Sheraton Yankee Trader Hotels.
He is responsible for the overall strategic planning and execution of the sales and marketing efforts for the oceanfront hotels. He previously served as the director of sales and marketing for The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort. He currently resides in Delray Beach.

Douglas Carrillo has been promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing and has been made a partner at Tecton Hospitality in Miami. He was previously the vice president of sales and marketing.
His job responsibilities will remain the same, which include overseeing the development and implementation of sales, branding, marketing, public relations and e-commerce strategies. Since joining Tecton more than six years ago, he has been involved in co-developing Desires Hotels, the boutique division of Tecton Hospitality, which has grown from four to 12 modern boutique hotels.
