He has 30 years of experience in all aspects of property management, from operations and human resources to engineering, finance and sales. Before joining The Services Cos., he was general manager of the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Minneapolis.
Richard Brilliant promoted to senior vice president and chief audit executive at Carnival Corporation
Richard Brilliant has been promoted to senior vice president of management advisory services and chief audit executive for Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc. He will be responsible for managing an international team of nearly 60 professionals. He also will be responsible for the audit committee of the board of directors. He began his career with the Carnival organization in 1994 as a senior financial/operational auditor and held multiple audit and advisory positions before being named vice president and chief audit executive in 2006. Robert Festinger has been promoted to chief operating officer at the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach. He will oversee the day to day operations of the Newport Group; Kitchen 305, Seven Seas Aveda Spa & Salon, Newport Marketing, Newport Hospitality and Newport Vacation Club. He was vice president of sales and marketing before the promotion and was responsible for the branding, marketing, selling and management of the Newport's hospitality properties.
Christian Goode, seven others named senior managers at Genting's Resorts World Miami
Christian Goode has been named president of Genting's Resorts World Miami (RWM). He will oversee the development of the RWM project in downtown Miami. He was chief financial officer of the Resorts World New York City project in Queens, N.Y. Before that, he was director of compliance at Seneca Gaming Corporation in New York, and before that he was casino controller at Charles Town Races and Slots in West Virginia. The firm also has named seven new members to its senior management team. Dan Sternberg will become senior counsel to Resorts World starting in Jan. 2012 and will serve as chairman of the Resorts World Miami advisory committee. He has been a corporate attorney for 30 years and has represented Genting and Resorts World for more than 20 years. Jessica Hoppe will serve as senior vice president of governmental affairs and general counsel for RWM. She will oversee legal affairs and will collaborate with legislative leaders statewide as the project develops. She was an attorney at the New York firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. William Thompson will join as senior vice president for development. He was executive vice president for development with the Related Group of Florida for 12 years. Farooq Rehmatwala has been named vice president of business and community affairs. He will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships within Florida’s business and hospitality industry, and the community. He has held management positions at the Fontainebleau Hilton in Miami Beach, the New York Hilton and the Walt Disney World Hilton. Dana Leibovitz will serve as vice president of operations. He will be in charge of all operational matters at RWM. He was vice president of VIP marketing for Resorts World New York City. Before that, he was senior vice president for Norwegian Cruise Lines. Jesse Manzano-Plaza has been named vice president of governmental affairs and public relations. He will work with local civic organizations, stakeholder groups and public officials to foster working relationships between RWM and community partners. He has worked with several state and local elected officials, including former Gov. Jeb Bush and Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. He also served as chief of staff for the Florida Department of Transportation. Ray Valentino has been named general manager of the Hilton Hotel. He has spent more than 20 years working with the Hilton Hotels Corporation, having worked at the Fontainebleau Hilton, Doubletree Coconut Grove, and the Hilton Miami Airport.
Dana Hagendorf named vice president and chief marketing officer at Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Dana Beth Hagendorf has been named vice president and chief marketing officer at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. She will be responsible for providing executive leadership and management of marketing, advertising, public relations and social media activities worldwide. She is founder and principal of Gallant Media Group, a brand-consulting firm.
Eduardo Chapoval and Lourdes Beach new hires at the new Hampton Inn & Suites in Downtown-Brickell
Eduardo Chapoval has been named general manager and Lourdes Beach has been named director of sales at the new Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown. They bring more than 40 years of combined experience to the new 221-room hotel, which is scheduled to open in September.
Chapoval will direct all areas of hotel operations, including guest services, sales and marketing, and hotel administration. He was general manager of the 149-unit Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport South/Blue Lagoon.
Beach will be responsible for revenue production and managing all areas of the hotel’s marketing and sales plans. She was director of sales at the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport South/Blue Lagoon for the last 10 years.
Deborah Yager Fleming promoted to vice chairman and principal of Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach
Deborah Yager Fleming has been promoted to vice chairman and principal of Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach. She was senior vice president of sales and marketing. She will continue to oversee all branding initiatives, public relations, advertising and creative marketing efforts, including Internet marketing. She joined Acqualina in March 2004 after having served as vice president, sales and marketing at Island Outpost. She also held senior management positions at hotels in New York.

Steve Wilson has been promoted to chief executive officer of The Service Companies (TSC), a hospitality, casino and vacation ownership outsourcing company in Miami Lakes. He joined TSC in 2008 as the senior vice president of operations and general manager. He was named president in December, 2010. Before joining TSC, he spent 20 years with Global Hyatt Corporation in operations and financial management.
