He will oversee Humana’s Medicare and Medicaid businesses in South Florida, including the market’s strategic direction, growth and profitability. He has been with Humana for more than 20 years.

Kimarie Stratos has joined Memorial Healthcare System as senior vice president and general counsel. She was the first senior vice president and general counsel of Miami Children’s Hospital, a position she held since 2002. She has more than 20 years experience in health law. As chief legal officer, she will provide advice to senior management on many issues, including regulatory and compliance matters and insurance issues. She also will report to the board of commissioners for the South Broward Hospital District and advise on governance and other matters.
Werner Kruck named CEO and Marilyn Reynolds named VP of operations at Security First Insurance Company
Security First Insurance Company, a Florida-based homeowners insurance provider, has named Werner E. Kruck chief operating officer and Marilyn Reynolds vice president of operations.
Kruck, who has more than 30 years of domestic and global insurance experience, joined the company in 2008. He has been instrumental in the company’s growth, serving more than 115,000 homeowners statewide.
Reynolds joined the company in 2006 as director of operations. She oversees more than 20 employees and is credited with the successful transition of the company's underwriting and customer service operations from a third-party business partner to providing services in-house, resulting in the creation of several new positions. She began her insurance career in 1996 and has more than 20 years experience in project management, system development, and employee and client training.

Ari Shapiro joins Gordon & Rees as partner
Ari C. Shapiro has joined the Miami law office of Gordon & Rees as a partner and member of the firm’s insurance, tort & product liability and commercial litigation practice groups. He will represent insurance companies, financial institutions, and automobile and other product manufacturers in a broad range of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts. Fender will focus his practice on civil litigation. His experience includes a wide range of tort and commercial litigation matters, including personal injury, product liability, contract disputes, real estate, breach of warranty, premises liability, insurance, workers’ compensation and landlord-tenant disputes.
Flores will focus his practice on real estate, banking and transactional law.
