GrayRobinson law firm adds three new attorneys

GrayRobinson P.A. has expanded its trial practice with the additions of Neil P. Linden, Philippe W. Devé and David B. Levin. All three attorneys come from the office of Yoss, LLP.

Linden joins the firm as an executive shareholder. He has tried cases involving real estate and title insurance litigation, and other complex commercial, class actions, construction and banking litigation, general contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes and lender liability defense.

 

 

 

Devé joins the firm as a shareholder. His practice areas include commercial and title insurance litigation, including coverage disputes, claims defense and agency defalcations, mortgage foreclosures, construction and banking litigation.

 

 

 

 

Levin joins the firm as an associate, focusing his practice on real estate, land title litigation, and title claim administration.

Arturo Hoyo named chairman of Florida Association of Insurance Agents

Arturo F. Hoyo has been named new chairman of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents for 2010-2011. He is president of Coastal Insurance Group, Inc. in Miami Springs, which he co-founded in 1979. The insurance group serves Miami, Miami Springs, Key Biscayne, Doral, Coral Gables, and Hialeah, selling personal and commercial insurance. 

Fernandez named COO at Coral Gables insurance firm

Norbert Fernandez has been named chief operating officer at MDW Insurance Group in Coral Gables. He will oversee the insurance marketing and management of all the operational functions of the organization. He has more than 24 years experience in commercial and personal lines insurance. Before joining MDW, he was the director of marketing and client service for USI Insurance Services in Fort Lauderdale.

Desai named a partner at Coral Gables law firm

Devang Desai has been named a partner at the law firm of Gaebe, Mullen, Antonelli & DiMatteo in Coral Gables, where he had been an associate since 2004. He concentrates his practice in insurance defense, products liability, transactional and commercial litigation, and bad faith consultation and litigation. He is chair of the Commercial Law Section for the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.

McKinley Insurance promotes vice president

Carmen Miller, a manager of account services at Fort Lauderdale-based McKinley Insurance, has been promoted to vice president of client services, She will be responsible for the servicing of the firm’s group benefits division. Prior to joining McKinley, Miller was a senior group benefit representative for HIP Health Plan of Florida.

Aetna names chairman of Miami advisory council

Aetna has named Aida Levitan chairman of its Miami advisory council. The council recently expanded its activities to include outreach to Hispanic groups across the United States. Levitan is president of The Levitan Group, a firm that provides community relations and consulting services.

Florida Insurance Council elects chairman

Humana government relations regional director Harry Spring has been elected chairman of the Florida Insurance Council, a nonprofit trade association, for a one-year term.

MDW Insurance Group names managing director

 MDW Insurance Group, based in Coral Gables, has named Gran LeCompte managing director of employee benefits. Prior to joining the agency, LeCompte was president and founder of Axiom Insurance Services, an employee benefits agency in Miami.

Florida Association of Insurance Agents names chairman-elect

Arturo F. Hoyo, president of Coastal Insurance Group in Miami Springs, has been named chairman-elect of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents. Hoyo has been a member of FAIA since 1979.

 

Kahn-Carlin & Co. appoints director

Michael A. Bonet, has joined Kahn-Carlin & Co., based in Miami, as the director of the firm's construction and surety bonding department. Prior to joining Kahn-Carlin, Bonet was a senior vice president with Brown & Brown in Miami Lakes.
