Jose Tolosa has been hired at MTV Networks Latin America as vice president of strategy and business development. He is based in Miami.

Previously, he was senior vice president and chief operating officer at the HNMA Funding Company.

Marc Fest has been appointed as vice president of communications for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. He succeeds Larry Meyer, who has become senior communications officer and remains secretary to the board of trustees.

Fest joined the foundation in March 2007 as director of communications.

New community advisory board members for WLRN

Promotions at UM's communications division

The University of Miami has made several promotions in its University Communications division:

• Margot Winick, formerly executive director of media relations, has been promoted to assistant vice president for media and community relations.
• Todd Ellenberg, formerly senior editorial director for university communications, has been promoted to executive director of communications.
• Karla V. Hernandez, formerly the associate director of media relations, has been promoted to the director of media relations.
• Christine Casas, formerly the assistant director of community relations, has been promoted to director of special projects.

David Harris has been hired as regional publisher for Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches of Morris Visitor Publications, a division of Morris Communications.

Antonio Mora has been hired as a co-anchor at CBS4's 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts. He starts Jan. 28.

Earlier in his career he worked in South Florida at WTVJ-NBC6, but was most recently an anchor at WBBM-CBS 2 Chicago.

Cathleen Farrell has been hired as editorial director of Vista, a Hispanic magazine based in Miami.

She was most recently editorial director of Page One Media, where she oversaw the company’s Hispanic projects division, which included PODER magazine where she served as editor since 2002.

Manuel Martinez has been hired as vice president and general manager of Spanish-language Telemundo station WSCV in Miami.

Previously, he served as vice president and general manager at WNJU in New York.

Reporter at CBS4

Michael Williams has been hired as a reporter with the WFOR-TV CBS4 newsteam.

He'll report special high profile stories, take part in special investigations with the CBS4 I-Team and will fill in as a back-up anchor. He starts with CBS4 on January 2.

Williams was most recently a spokesperson for Florida Power & Light. Before that he was a news anchor with WTVJ, which he joined as a reporter in January 1993. He also worked for NBC News as a national correspondent for their NBC owned and operated stations from 2002 to 2004.
