April Donelson has joined the Haute Media Group as vice president of national accounts for Haute Living Magazine. Before joining the company, she served as director of sales and marketing for the Welcome Channel for five years. In her new role, she will be responsible for the growing and managing of national accounts for all Haute Living branded platforms.
Beasley Broadcast Miami has named Georgia Beasley interactive sales manager for its three South Florida radio stations, Power 96 WPOW-FM, 99.9 WKIS Country and 560 Sports Radio WQAM-AM. Beasley, who started her radio career at WQAM, most recently served as general sales manager at Beasley’s WJBR-FM in Delaware.
Viacom International Media Networks The Americas has named Hector Almaguer vice president and general counsel. In this role, he will ahve commercial and legal responsibilities for MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Vh1, among others. Before joining VIMN THe Americas, Almaguer was senior vice president of business and legal affairs for Universal Music Latin America.
Dr. Johnny Franco has joined Miami Plastic Surgery at Baptist Hospital in Kendall. In Aug. 2011, he accepted a plastic surgery fellowship with Miami Plastic Surgery to receive additional training in all aspects of cosmetic procedures. Before joining the practice, his medical background included a residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he served a year as chief resident. In 2011, he completed additional training at Chan Gung Hospital in Taiwan with a focus on microsurgery primarily in cancer reconstruction, followed by a fellowship at Gent University Hospital in Belgium where he specialized in breast reconstruction and fat grafting.
Jennifer Gibbs has recently joined the Miami Science Museum as senior vice president of development. She will be responsible for leading the Capital Campaign project to build the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, which broke ground in Downtown Miami earlier this year. Before joining the museum, she was vice president of development for public television station WPBT2 in Miami, where she directed major gift fundraising, on-air fundraising, corporate underwriting and membership services.
Albert Rodriguez has been promoted to chief operating officer at Spanish Broadcasting System. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and will continue to oversee the revenue and profit performance of the company’s consolidated operations, including radio, television, interactive and entertainment divisions. He has been chief revenue officer of the company’s consolidated operations and general manager of the Miami television market since Jan. 2011.
