Atlantic | Pacific Companies has named Luis Alicea as director of business development. He has 15 years of experience in sales, management and business development. Before joining the company, he was the owner/president of LUNA Sales Group. He has also served as director of wireless site acquisition for Rainbow Broadband Inc.
Holland & Knight has named Vivian de las Cuevas-Diaz as partner. She is also the president of the Cuban American Bar Association. De las Cuevas-Diaz is also active in the Latin Builders Association and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Miami.
Also at Holland & Knight, Barbara Ferrer has been named partner. She has experience working with national, regional and community banks on large financing projects involving construction, real estate and asset-based loans. Ferrer has also been a board member of the Builders Association of South Florida and CREW of Miami.
Horacio LeDon has joined Douglas Elliman Real Estate as president of development marketing Florida. He will also serve as the senior managing director of development marketing New York. In these positions, he will lead marketing projects in Florida and New York, including Ian Schrager’s The Residences at the Miami Beach Edition. LeDon founded Horacio LeDon Real Estate and served as the west coast senior vice president of Starwood Capital’s ST Residential Unit.
Terry Frank has been named director, strategic projects, at BBX Capital. He worked at BankAtlantic for 14 years, most recently as senior vice president, manager of strategic projects. Frank also serves on the board of Business for the Arts of Broward and ArtServe.
BBX Capital Corporation has named Kirsten Uebrig as director, operations manager. She worked at BankAtlantic for eight years, recently serving as vice president and senior project manager. She has also held positions in the residential construction and yacht-building industries.
McCraney Property Company has named Steven Barre as managing director. Before joining the company, he served as CEO and a board member of Tigrent, Inc. He has also served as senior vice president and general counsel of Jacuzzi Brands, Inc.
Rey Melendi has joined 13th Floor Investments as chief operating officer and partner. Before joining the firm, he was director of REO (real estate owned) at Rialto Capital Management. He has also held senior-level positions at Lennar.
Oscar Rodriguez has joined Newgard Development Group as senior vice president of development. Before joining the company, he served in a senior leadership role of high-rise developments in Florida. He has 15 years of experience in South Florida real estate development.
Bruce Parker has been named managing director for commercial REO and special assets at BBX Capital Corporation. He has served as senior vice president and manager of special assets for BankAtlantic for four years prior to joining BBX Capital. He has also served as vice president of land development for Levitt and Sons.
BBX Capital Corporation has named Andrew Meran as managing director for commercial real estate lending and special assets. Before joining the company, he was manager of commercial real estate at BankAtlantic for nine years.
