Rivera, who has more than 25 years of experience with the company, served as the vice president of IT, fedex.com and customer service solutions before his promotion. Kathy Walkerow-Ivanov has been promoted to senior vice president of administration at Fleet Advantage, a truck fleet business analytics and equipment financing company based in Fort Lauderdale. She will be responsible for overseeing all Fleet Advantage transactions from initial award to final equipment in-servicing. Before joining the company, she worked in the titling and registration division of First Fleet Corporation. She also worked in the firm's lease documentation department.
Dennis C. Cooke has been promoted to president of Global Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) at Ryder System, Inc. He will be responsible for leading all areas of global business operations for the company’s largest business segment. He was senior vice president, chief of operations for FMS in the U.S. and Canada. He joined Ryder in 2011, following a 22-year career with GE and related companies.
Manuel A. Fernandez has been named executive vice president of logistics operations at Flagler, a real estate company headquartered in Coral Gables. He will spearhead the development of the company's South Florida logistics center, a 400-acre intermodal complex adjacent to the Miami International Airport. He also will be responsible for a newly launched logistics practice. Before joining Flagler, he was senior vice president with International Container Terminal Services, Inc., a global container terminal management company. Before that, he held senior positions with top international logistics companies, including DHL Express (USA), Inc., APL LTD. and CSX Corporation.
Carol Finklehoffe and Robert Peltz have joined Leesfield & Partners, P.A. as partners in the firm. Both attorneys will focus on maritime litigation and cruise ship liability matters.
Finklehoffe is an active trial attorney in state and federal courts throughout Florida. The main concentration of her practice is in complex personal injury, wrongful death, and sexual assault and harassment claims on commercial and private vessels. She also is a trained Civil Circuit Court mediator.
Peltz has more than three decades experience as a trial attorney focusing on maritime law and general tort liability in various fields, including products liability and professional negligence. He is chairman of the nationwide Maritime Law Association’s Passenger and Cruise Ship Committee. He was president of the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association and the Florida Maritime Law Association.
Dennis C. Cooke has been named senior vice president and chief of operations, U.S. and Canada, in Ryder System's Fleet Management Solutions business segment. In this role, he will be responsible for leading the North America operations for the company’s largest business segment, which manages a fleet of more than 180,000 vehicles from 850 locations. He had a 22-year career with GE and related companies, including serving as vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare’s Global MRI business and later served as president and CEO of GE Security’s Homeland Protection business.
Edward A. Latour has been named senior director of operations and risk management at Gulliver Schools. His responsibilities will include oversight of technology, cafeteria services, maintenance and facilities, legal compliance, security, transportation, and risk management. He also will play an integral role in the schools’ strategic initiatives. He has nine years of experience in private school finance and operations, having worked as director of finance and operations at Palmer Trinity School and most recently for the past nine years as director of finance for Ransom Everglades School in Coconut Grove.
Andrea Bahr has been named customer support manager at Banyan Air Service, a 24-hour fixed base operation that caters to individual aircraft owners, corporate flight departments, aircraft charter operators and military and governmental institutions. Her responsibilities include management, training, scheduling and staffing of the customer support team. She will be based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. She has 10 years of aviation experience and previously worked at Galaxy at Palm Beach International, and Signature Flight Support at Miami International Airport.
