Elaine de Valle named senior editor at online news site Voxxi

Elaine de Valle has joined Voxxi, an online site for independent news, analysis and commentary with a Hispanic focus, as senior editor. She will work with Voxxi editors and correspondents to coordinate coverage and cover on news trends that are of importance to Hispanics. She will also continue to write her Political Cortadito blog, but will expand it to take on national campaigns and regional issues across the U.S. that impact Hispanic communities. She has been a reporter and South Florida political watchdog blogger. She spent 18 years as a staff writer for The Miami Herald. 

Dixie Andrade named director of business development at JustAskBoo

Dixie Andrade has been named director of business development at JustAskBoo, a Coral Gables-based e-newsletter in which subscribers exchange referrals, recommendations, advice and information. She will work with new, existing and former clients and create customized marketing campaigns. She is an author, a certified life coach and founder of Envision Possibilities, a life coaching firm. 

Cristina Raecke, Angel Burgos newest executive directors at FIU's College of Business Administration

Cristina Raecke and Angel Burgos have been hired as executive directors at Florida International University's College of Business Administration.

Raecke will be responsible for publications, web presence, event marketing and the development and implementation of the marketing strategies for graduate and undergraduate programs. She has worked with Lucent Technologies and Nortel Networks and the law firm of Greenburg Traurig. She also was manager of marketing and communications for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision. Before that, she was manager for marketing and community relations for the Miami Downtown Development Authority, and director of recruiting and admissions for the University of Miami's MBA programs.  

Burgos will direct and manage the MBA programs and will have overall management responsibility for the Master of International Business program. He was director of MBA and MS in accounting programs for the George Mason University School of Management. Before that, he also contributed to the graduate programs for the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University.

 

 

Matt Bourdeau promoted to regional vice president at Robert Half

Matt Bourdeau has been promoted to regional vice president, overseeing Robert Half Technology and The Creative Group in the Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa offices. Robert Half Technology is a provider of information technology professionals. The Creative Group specializes in placing interactive, design and marketing professionals. Both are divisions of Robert Half International, a specialized staffing firm. Bourdeau has over six years of experience in technology staffing and consulting services. Before joining Robert Half International, he held managererial positions at American Power Conversion in Kingston, RI.

Andrea Reynolds named principal and vice president of JustAskBoo

Andrea Reynolds has been named principal and vice president of JustAskBoo, a South Florida-based online newsletter that lets readers interact by posting referrals, recommendations, special events announcements and advertisements. She will oversee the company's advertising and sales initiatives, including the hiring, training and management of the company’s sales team, developing strategies for client advertising campaigns and securing new business. She began her career in media buying for DDB Needham advertising agency in Chicago. She then transitioned to advertising sales at Turner Broadcasting/Time Warner, where she spent the majority of her career before joining JustAskBoo.
