Elaine de Valle has joined Voxxi, an online site for independent news, analysis and commentary with a Hispanic focus, as senior editor. She will work with Voxxi editors and correspondents to coordinate coverage and cover on news trends that are of importance to Hispanics. She will also continue to write her Political Cortadito blog, but will expand it to take on national campaigns and regional issues across the U.S. that impact Hispanic communities. She has been a reporter and South Florida political watchdog blogger. She spent 18 years as a staff writer for The Miami Herald. 

Dixie Andrade named director of business development at JustAskBoo

Dixie Andrade has been named director of business development at JustAskBoo, a Coral Gables-based e-newsletter in which subscribers exchange referrals, recommendations, advice and information. She will work with new, existing and former clients and create customized marketing campaigns. She is an author, a certified life coach and founder of Envision Possibilities, a life coaching firm. 

Cristina Raecke, Angel Burgos newest executive directors at FIU's College of Business Administration

Cristina Raecke and Angel Burgos have been hired as executive directors at Florida International University's College of Business Administration.

Raecke will be responsible for publications, web presence, event marketing and the development and implementation of the marketing strategies for graduate and undergraduate programs. She has worked with Lucent Technologies and Nortel Networks and the law firm of Greenburg Traurig. She also was manager of marketing and communications for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision. Before that, she was manager for marketing and community relations for the Miami Downtown Development Authority, and director of recruiting and admissions for the University of Miami's MBA programs.  

Burgos will direct and manage the MBA programs and will have overall management responsibility for the Master of International Business program. He was director of MBA and MS in accounting programs for the George Mason University School of Management. Before that, he also contributed to the graduate programs for the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University.

 

 

Matt Bourdeau promoted to regional vice president at Robert Half

Matt Bourdeau has been promoted to regional vice president, overseeing Robert Half Technology and The Creative Group in the Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa offices. Robert Half Technology is a provider of information technology professionals. The Creative Group specializes in placing interactive, design and marketing professionals. Both are divisions of Robert Half International, a specialized staffing firm. Bourdeau has over six years of experience in technology staffing and consulting services. Before joining Robert Half International, he held managererial positions at American Power Conversion in Kingston, RI.

Rene Rodriguez joins Viacom International Media Networks

Rene Rodriguez has been named vice president of digital media for Viacom International Media Networks The Americas (Latin America, US Hispanic and Canada). He will be based in Miami and will oversee all strategic and operational aspects of interactive digital media. He also will ensure the integration and expansion of online and mobile businesses. He also will lead the development and distribution of proprietary digital content for VIMN The Americas' brands, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Vh1, across the region, and for Tr3s; MTV, Música y Mas in the US. Before this position, he was director of business development at Hey Anita!, Inc., a Los Angeles-based messaging solutions company. Before that, he was senior business development manager at software corporation, SAP. 

John Hallock named vice president, corporate communications at CareCloud

John Hallock has been named vice president of corporate communications at CareCloud, a Miami-based provider of cloud-based practice management, medical billing and electronic health record software and services to medical groups. He will oversee CareCloud’s strategic communication and public relations programs and bolster the company’s awareness and branding efforts. Before joining CareCloud, he was director of global corporate communications for Athenahealth Inc.

Tom Riecke named vice president of sales for the Americas at DBK Concepts

Tom Riecke has been named vice president of sales for the Americas with DBK Concepts in Miami. He will be responsible for managing DBK’s sales force and expanding the products and services the company offers. Before joining DBK, he spent 26 years with LXE, serving as vice president of sales in the Americas. DBK offers new and refurbished data-collection mobile computers, custom software development, maintenance and repair services, and professional/implementation services.

Oscar Elizaga promoted to senior vice president of the Americas at Scala

Oscar Elizaga has been promoted to senior vice president of the Americas, at Scala, a provider of digital signage and advertising management solutions. He will be based in Miami and will be responsible for all of Scala's sales, services and support operations in the United States and Latin America. He was vice president, EMEA, India & Latin America at Scala. He has more than 30 years of experience, obtained with technology companies including IBM, Kulicke and Soffa, InterDigital Communications Corporation, Bentley Systems and Expand International Corporation.

Eric Dosal promoted to president and chief executive officer of Compuquip Technologies Inc.

Eric Dosal has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of Compuquip Technologies Inc., an IT services provider in South Florida. He succeeds Alberto Dosal, who will now serve as chairman of the family-owned and operated company. Since 2010, Eric Dosal has served as Compuquip's chief operating officer. During this time, he co-founded the subsidiary BrightGauge Software, a cloud-based application for managed services providers. Before that, he served as director of services and before that, he was director of managed services. Early in his career, he was an associate with the investment banking group at Blaylock & Partners in New York City.
