Heisman winner is backing Amendment 4

Charlie Ward, former New York Knicks guard and the Heisman Trophy winner who led Florida State University to its first national championship in football, has recorded a radio ad urging voters in Florida to support Amendment 4, the measure that will mandate that legislators spent at least 15 percent of the state's tobacco settlement on anti-smoking programs.

In the ad Ward says: "Whether you root for the Seminoles, Hurricanes, Gators or someone else, there is something everyone in Florida can agree on. The need to keep our kids smoke free." Backers of Amendment 4 say the radio ad will run between today and Election Day. But Ward's involvement isn't limited to helping on the radio. Amendment 4 organizers say they will have a plane flying over Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday that says "Charlie Ward Says Vote Yes on 4."
