Governor-elect Charlie Crist wants to raise at least $2 million to $3 million to pay for his inauguration events around the state and is relying on lobbyists to help him. But in order to get around the state's strict ban on gifts from lobbyists, Crist has set up a 527 committee. His transition team also contends that the inaugural committee is not covered by a state law that requires swift disclosure of any donations to a 527 group set up by a state elected official.
