Gelber cranks up money machine

On the eve of a proposed special session to cut millions from the state budget, Rep. Dan Gelber will be holding a fundraiser for his state Senate campaign. The fundraiser being hosted by Sen. Gwen Margolis will be held at the Governor's Club from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Gelber announced his plans to run for Margolis' seat earlier this summer.

What a hypocrite Gelber is. He complains about budget cuts then fills his pockets with special interest money. No wonder the Democrats have no credibility.

Speaking of hypocrisy...

Democratic Rep. Jack Seiler, of Wilton Manors, called it ''mind-boggling'' that House Republicans are asking for contributions of $50,000 and $100,000 at a time when the state's economy is sagging.

''There's a lot of people out there who think that Tallahassee is out of touch with the rest of the state of Florida; maybe there's some truth to it,'' Seiler said. ``We keep raising money and don't realize there's too much money in politics.''

What do you have to say about your buddy Dan Gelber, Jack Seiler?

The rules are the rules and the game is the game. If he's going to run, he's going to have to raise money. If the press doesn't like it, talk to the guys who sell the ad space/time and get them to give it away for free.

7:00 and 8:13.... you might want to look up the term "non sequitur" before posting again.

7:00 & 8:13. I wasn't aware that Republicans had been donating their campaign contributions to offset the budget shortfalls they caused. Can you post the link.
