AARP chides Democratic candidates

AARP, which represents nearly 3 million seniors in Florida, became the first non-partisan group to weigh on the decision by Democratic presidential candidates to boycott the state.

Florida broke Democratic National Committee rules when lawmakers moved up the presidential primary to Jan. 29. The boycott was pushed onto the candidates by four, DNC-blessed states with early primaries.

"This raiseses concerns because we want to make sure our members are educated before they go to the polls,'' said Lori Parham, AARP Florida state director, "We know our members vote and take elections seriously."

Her written statement said: "As a Floridian, I am disappointed in the news that presidential candidates would ignore our state in their campaigns. AARP Florida remains committed to ensuring our members and all citizens a chance to learn where the presidential candidates stand on important domestic issues, such as access to affordable health care and lifetime financial security. We will continue to expect candidates to address issues important to Florida voters.''

Dean take note: Your move is a big big mistake. Florida seniors vote in big numbers. AARP Florida IS AARP ... a huge influence on the national organization.

The elected democrats in office should have forseen this problem. Instead they supported this law fully. Now Florida's seniors have been put at a disadvantage.Isn't it time to replace these incompetents? Vote against anyone in office over 8 years.
