Klein and Buchanan place in the top 10 of $$ raisers

Florida frosh reps Ron Klein, a Boca Raton Democrat, and Vern Buchanan, a Sarasota Republican, placed fourth and 10th, respectively, in the top 10 list of House fundraisers compiled by CQ Politics.

Klein pulled in $1.8 million in the first three fundraising quarters; Buchanan raised $1.4 million.

The article notes that Klein raised more than $4 million in 2006 to unseat veteran Republican Rep. Clay Shaw so "it's not shocking" that he's among the "best-funded candidates in the nation."

Buchanan is raising money for a re-match against Democrat Christine Jennings, whom he defeated by fewer than 400 votes in an election that is still being contested because 18,000 ballots showed no vote for either candidate in the congressional race.
